about

Stephanie Morris was a Texas-born, Chicago-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist. In 2006, at the urging of friend and fellow musician, Larry O. Dean, she was asked to record a pair of demos for possible inclusion in an announced Neil Young covers project; the record label eventually passed, and the demos were never completed. Stephanie passed away in 2009, but Larry thought the demos – which had been recorded to capture the best performance possible – were strong enough to complete. With the addition of a string arrangement from the brilliant Wim Oudijk (who also sadly died in 2016), the first of two singles is here at last, with the second to (hopefully) follow early next year.

Produced by Larry O. Dean. Recorded June 2006 at The Chophouse, La Grange, IL and June 2009 at Disco Fair Recording, The Hague, Netherlands. Engineered by Jimmy De Lauriea. Mastered July 2017 by Mike Hagler at Kingsize Sound Labs, Chicago, IL.
